Swami Vidyananda had a degree in Electrical engineering, Physics and Mathematics which moulded his outlook into a scientific and practical approach in yoga.
His method is based on cause and effect relationship. The practitioner has no need to be convinced on the efficacy of this system of yoga, but to believe in the result of his own practice.
He specialized himself on the comparative study of the major religions in order to see the common view points shared by the different cultures and traditions. He says nothing new that has not already been said by other schools of thought of eastern and western cultures.
His greatest merit lies in his ability to have rendered easy and understandable the highly symbolical language used in the olden scriptures of the east and west.
The nature of man is what religion and philosophy are speaking about in a literal and symbolical way. How man loses his health and happiness and how to regain it, is the aim of all schools of thought.
All diseases except viruses are considered to be psycho-somatic, which means the origin or root is to be found in the mind. If yoga is practiced in the correct way it can reduce or cure any psycho-somatic disease. When the mind relaxes the immune system starts working properly and endocrine glands secrete hormones in a balanced way and the body naturally cures itself.
Swami in his final years dedicates himself to the perfection of his method of yoga for the sake of spreading yoga to the suffering humanity. It takes little a day to improve ones life and to learn to live before starting to live ,just by following a conscious and balanced lifestyle.
